Prop List
My props for my green screen film is going to be the harry potter chocolate frog case. I think this is all we will need as its about a magic box and that's what the box will be. Although the genie that pops out of the magic box will probably need a hat so I'm going to try and find a funky kind of hat.
Proposal
For this project we basically got told that we can create a 30-60 second film about anything so we came up with the idea of a person that basically walks into a classroom and finds something shining so he picks it up and rubs it not knowing what it is. However when he rubs it he finds out that it was actually a genie that was inside this magical object and grants him three wishes. His three wishes are that he is teleported to the himalayas, his second wish is that we can be very rich and have a room full of gold and his third wish is to see the dinosaurs back in time. After this the genie goes back into the lamp and the film is done. What he doesn't quite know is that the genie misinterpreted what he said and sends him not just to look at the dinosaurs but to be within the dinosaurs so the man panicked and quickly asks the genie to teleport them the hell out of there. It's a simple idea but also quite fun and I think we could maybe add a few videos in there less than 30 seconds so we don't get copyrighted etc.
I think the effects we will use are going to be like teleportation noises and some cool blue swirly things on the screen then a flash of light and you're in the himalayas. The other effects are like sound effects and some visual effects to go with the film that we haven't quite decided on yet as well as a fade in transition, probably at the start.
The sound we will we use will be only non diegetic voice overs, special effects sounds and music over the top. Our props will be a harry potter chocolate frog box as the magic box because its funky looking and adds into the whole Harry Potter trip kind of thing.
Our audience will be 16+ year olds because it will be presented for them to watch but I would like to say kids could watch it also as it's only about a genie in a lamp and three wishes so i think the age rating for this film be a U.

Diegetic/non diegetic sound
Diegetic Sound:
- Voices of characters.
- Sounds made by objects in the story.
- Music that you can see and hear is coming from an instrument or jukebox etc.
Digetic sound can be either on screen or off screen depending on whatever its source is within the frame or outside the frame.
Basically, diegetic sound is actual sound. Not sound effects.
Non-Diegetic Sound:
Non-Diegetic sound is sound that cant be "seen" in a way. It's sound thats not physical and that is added in as like sound effects are for dramatic affect, a narrators commentary or mood music of some sort.
The difference between diegetic and non-diegetic sound all depends on if its been added in as an extra or the sound was captured there and then on camera. A play with diegetic and non-diegetic conventions can be used to create a horror type theme, or to surprise the audience like some comedy films do.
Another term for non-diegetic sound is commentary sound.
The film "Thor" you can see both Diegetic and Non-Diegetic sound being used. There is some Diegetic sound is from 1:11 - 1:17 where Thor and his father are arguing. Loki also gets involved. The Non-Diegetic sound is the music/soundtracks and sound effects in which there is a lot of throughout the trailer. Here is the web address to the trailer:

For the second film i chose to do "Grown Ups". Grown ups had diegetic sound throughout the trailer including speech, footsteps and background sound etc. The non diegetic sound is basically the commentary, sound effects and music/soundtrack. Here is the web adress to the clip:

Green screen research task
Our task was to research green screen films and we came up with a load of them. We came up with iron man, avengers assemble, Thor and harry potter etc. You can see all the others on the pictures below.
For our final task we were then set to think up of a 1 minute film about anything we want at all but part or all of the film has to be filmed in front of a green screen so as you can see in the picture we came up with 2 ideas. One was that a man stumbles across a magic box or a lamp that he bought from a car boot because he thought it looked cool and rubs it. A genie then pops out and he says the man has 3 wishes so the man wishes for gold and to be in a cool location like for example, the northern lights. We then use the green screen to make those scenes come alive and for his final wish he wished he had super speed and he got what he wished for. The genie goes back into the lamp and the box disappears, the man then starts to run at super speed past all the city buildings. This film will be called "Niddala" which is Aladdin spelt backwards. For our second idea it was that a guy has a time machine and travels back to the dinosaurs age where the meteorite struck 65 million years ago and he steals a dinosaur egg with him! Also the time machine is a sand timer and lets him visit the places he goes too from dusk till dawn only.
Above you can see three film examples that use this effect. I will now upload a picture of the green screen versions of these films to blogger as proof.
You can see that what they're standing on is real but everything behind them is totally just one big green screen. What this would have enabled the editors to do is to put a fake (but real looking) digital background behind them.
My second choice was Avengers Assemble. Here is a picture of the Avengers Assemble film in progress with their green screen.
On this picture you can actually see the difference between when the actors were in front of the green screen to when you're watching the finished film. It makes the acting seem even better.
The third and final film example was THOR. Another superhero movie. Here is a picture.
